Three St Lucia stays. Three different holidays.

Compare Jade Mountain, Sugar Beach and Windjammer Landing by room style, location, family suitability and the details that change your booking.

Our shortlist favours Jade Mountain for an open-air sanctuary, Sugar Beach for a beach-centred stay between the Pitons, and Windjammer Landing for northwest-coast rooms and villas. None is the best choice for everyone.

What is the nicest resort in St Lucia?

For a couple who will spend much of the day in their room, our pick from this shortlist is Jade Mountain, provided the open-wall design appeals. For a family wanting Piton scenery and a children's programme, start with Sugar Beach. For a group wanting separate bedrooms and a northern base, examine Windjammer's villas.

These recommendations are based on published facilities and layouts. They are not firsthand service ratings, and they do not rank every hotel on the island.

Compare like-for-like room quotes

Ask each resort for the same dates and guest ages. Record the room name, private-pool status, meal plan, transfer cost, taxes, fees and cancellation deadline. A generic room photograph or a resort's lowest advertised price is not enough to compare the stay you would actually book.

There is no useful permanent ranking of the most expensive resort: a multi-bedroom residence is not comparable to an entry-level suite. Compare total cost for your party, then ask whether the upgrade changes something you will use every day.

Views and easy access are separate decisions

An elevated room can be attractive and inconvenient at the same time. Request the route from the proposed room category to breakfast, the beach and reception. Ask about steps, gradients and vehicle assistance, rather than accepting a general description such as accessible or family-friendly.
