Visit the Federated States of Micronesia
Somewhere in the blue Western Pacific Ocean, there’s a group of around 607 islands that form an independent sovereign island nation, known as the Federated States of Micronesia. The group consists of four states called Pohnpei, Yap Chuuk and Kosrae, each of them unusual and characteristic with a jaw-dropping type of natural sights. The Federated States of Micronesia are somewhat close to Papua New Guinea in the south and the Philippines in the West. As for the capital of this island nation, meet the city of Palikir, an attractive destination located at the Pohnpei Island. However, this is not the biggest city of all the states.
The largest one you can find on the Chuuk Atoll, and it is called Weno. Interesting fact about the states is that they all, except Kosrae, include several outlying atolls, apart from the main high islands. Another amusing thing is that the part of the Coraline Islands of the Micronesia region, which are freely scattered throughout the Pacific Ocean, belong to the Federated States of Micronesia. Geographically this is a complicated structure of one island nation, which makes it even more interesting when it comes to exploring and discovering a new traveling destination. But what exactly should you expect from the Federated States of Micronesia? Check out each of them separately and find out what’s hidden in your next journey:

The Yap Islands are a part of the Coraline islands. Apart from the atolls, the main islands of Yap are considered to be formed by four separate islands, which are: Marbaq, Gagil-Tamil, Maap, and Rumung. Even though considered to be connected, all of them are separated by water and are wonderfully surrounded by a coral reef. The capital of Yap is Colonia, which is not to be confused with Pohnpei’s capital Kolonia. This place, even though it is mostly rolling hills and rich in vegetation, has some stunning beaches and incredible flora. However, probably one of the most interesting stuff about Yap is the culture and traditions of the
Yapese people, something you’ll get in touch with once you step your foot on the land. And when your heart starts to ache for some vigorous fun activity, then go ahead and try out diving, snorkeling, hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking and fishing. So many things to do in Yap!
The state of Chuuk consists of several island groups and is known to be the most populous state of all four in Micronesia. Most people live in the Chuuk Lagoon, where the Weno Island, which is also the largest city in the Federated States of Micronesia, functions as the capital of Chuuk.
