Tourists can be attractive when they travel abroad, especially if you observe them while posing for photos or just look at their collection of pictures of the places they have visited. Yes, people tend to be different, but it`s amazing how most of them seem to pose the same way in some particular cities or next to famous buildings and statues.

Funny as it might sound, supporting the leaning tower of Pisa or posing as a soldier at Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin comes naturally when taking a photo. People do it for fun and pleasant memories, and I believe that even you have done one or more of the already known and widely used poses around the world. Aha, you`re busted! However, that`s no crime, but people eventually get tired of seeing the same photos over and over again.

If you were wondering what the known and used poses around the globe are, then take a look at these famous attractions in the world:

Pinching the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France

Well, this is certainly a famous attraction in the world! Haven`t you seen a lot of photos of people pinching the top of the Eiffel Tower? Well, at least that`s what the perspective of the picture is showing you. Paris is famous for this magnificent tower and tourists are invading the city more and more every year. However, they don`t seem to be improving their poses as the year’s pass. Pinching, holding, jumping and leaning towards the Eiffel Tower – we have seen all of it already!

Standing as Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Standing still and spreading your arms wide is what you immediately do when you find yourself in front of Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro. And of course, you take a photo in that position. All those arms in the air will make you laugh, plus it seems like you have a limbo game going on there – if you want to pass you have to go under the arms. Sometimes people can get creative and avoid doing this pose. Instead, they go on top of the statue and take a selfie from Christ`s head. Yes, it`s true, some people have done it, but it seems that it`s not the safest spot to take a photo, so better not experiment.

Holding up the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Italy

If you have finished many of your tries to look like you`re holding up, supporting or pushing the Tower of Pisa, take a step back to see the big picture. Take a moment to see all of the people like you, trying to succeed in the scenario of the photo, where they look like they are making karate moves. All tourists, frozen in a funny position, waiting for their photo with the Tower to be taken – now that`s hilarious!

Capturing your reflection at Cloud Gate in Chicago, USA

Cloud Gate is a magnificent monument, and it gives you a chance for creative photos since you can see your reflection in the monument. However, people usually just stand in front of the monument and take a photo of their reflection, and that`s all! If you want to be more interesting then use the space and the form and try to do something unique, don`t make it look like you`ve taken a selfie in a random mirror.

Kissing the Great Sphinx of Giza, Egypt

You walk around in the desert, tired of all those pyramids and you suddenly spot a Sphinx. What do you do? Kiss it of course!
Tourists rarely get creative with this sculpture of a mythical creature. Of course, they spend time poking or holding the Pyramids, but come on – at least kissing the Sphinx is way funnier, but a little bit overused, don`t you think?

Standing on I Amsterdam letters in Amsterdam, Netherlands

Your name doesn`t start with any of the letters in I Amsterdam? Oh no, it seems you have to take a photo with a random letter. Tourists are mad about these simple letters put on a square in Amsterdam, and they simply can`t wait to hop on on one of the letters to take a photo. Yes, they are climbing the letters so that they have the perfect picture. And the choice of the letter is usually connected to their name or the person they love etc.

Throwing a coin in The Trevi Fountain in Rome, Italy

There`s a tradition that whenever you visit the Trevi Fountain in Rome, you should throw a coin with your right hand, above your left shoulder, while being turned with your back to the fountain. Legend says (thanks to the movies) that if you throw a coin once – you will return to Rome one day, two coins means that you will find new romance and three coins guarantee a marriage. Even though it`s silly to believe these stories based on some movie script, people throw coins inside the fountain, while taking photos of the moment.

Doing Yoga at Machu Picchu in the Andes Mountains, Peru

Having the opportunity and wish to climb up this beautiful Incan citadel is a once in a lifetime experience. The place has its energy, providing peace and happiness to the visitors, taking them to a state of pure Zen. And that is why many people associate this place with the art of yoga. The funny thing is, tourists immediately pose in their (sometimes made up) yoga position, just to state the obvious – how calm and relax they feel up there. However, at times this can be found funny because come on – were you seriously hiking up that mountain just to have a photo of you in some weird position? Give us some “look; I made it” smile.

Grabbing Charging Bull`s testicles in Manhattan, USA

Now, this is just ridiculous, and every tourist seems to do it. At first, it was hilarious, but now everyone does it, and it`s not unique anymore. And to think that people even do it because they believe it will bring them luck?

Rubbing Juliet`s bronze breast in Verona, Italy

Oh, the things people do for love! Yes, rubbing the bronze breast of Romeo`s girl is a belief that guarantees tourists, great love. And they do it proudly while taking a photo of it. The funny thing is that the statue had to be removed in 2014 due to damage of the love-seeking tourists and their wish to grab the breast to find great love.

Having photos from your trips is a nice way to capture your memories, but when it comes to posing – you can always try to be a little bit more creative. Meanwhile, it would be funny to take a cliché photo for your private collection of memories and even share it with other people if you simply don`t care what the others might think. Whatever you do – just make sure to enjoy the moment!
